Any band featuring a member of the late, lamented Barnies is beyond O.K. in my book. Nathan Logus, the archetype of the low-level drummer who plays everything just right, anchors this 2 song collection of some very cool, intelligent, art school rock. It's a unique sound with a lack of obvious influences, but for the sake of reference only, I hear some Talking Heads, some Television, some great stuff, really.

The A-side is the stronger of the two with a great melody that is intriguing and unpredictable. Vocally, it reminds me of a more detached Jason Falkner. It's just great -- out of phase Strats, a loping bass groove, and some lovely, un-wanky guitar noodling. There's almost a King Crimson thing happening here -- but in a really appealing way. I dig it deeply.

Special props go to the boys in the band for the gonza superfuzz ending on the B-side. I can't really describe it, gentle readers, so you'll just have to obtain a copy for yourself. I heartily recommend this one.
