Boston has produced its share of great bands through the years, helping define post-punk and new wave in the '70s and '80s with Mission of Burma, The Cars, The Lyres, and The Del Fuegos, among others. In the latter half of the '80s and early '90s, the city even threatened to launch a full-fledged guitar-pop revival, thanks to Throwing Muses, The Pixies, Belly, The Lemonheads, Juliana Hatfield, and their close kin. If any band has taken it upon itself to pick up the flag, it's Baby Ray, a versatile power-pop outfit with two albums to its credit (the new one is Monkeypuzzle [ED: nope, that's the old one... the new one's Do I Love America]) and a bright future in front of it.
